28/11/25 - Looking at the future

Hello again. Took me a good 12 days to update the blog section and actually make it worthwhile looking into. Anyways the gloomy social media ban is upon our horizons and I think a lot of people need clarification as to what's happening next, for the ban, me and my channel. First, I think we need to clarify what the ban consists of. Everyone in Australia under 16 will be banned from THESE platforms : Tiktok, Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook, Twitch, X, Reddit, Twitch, Threads and YouTube. First of all, how was discord exempt from the ban? It's predator central, Roblox also wasn't in the ban, because you know, it's technically a game, but that should have also been included in the ban. YouTube SHOULDN'T, because there are ZERO ways to communicate with others directly, except comments, which are filled with bots anyway so it doesn't really matter. I would easily sacrifice the rest if YouTube wasn't included.

WHY IS YOUTUBE BEING INCLUDED? Well I theorise it's that the Australian Government has something against Google behind the scenes. Doesn't really matter how it's getting banned unfortunately, it's still getting banned. It's the only one of these platforms that has a whole educational community where millions learn interesting information WILLINGLY, and not in schools. It's also where many people are inspired to start channels themselves, start creative projects, connect with people and communities they won't be able to during this ban. So what does this actually mean for me? Well, it means I won't be able to use YouTube until 12/05/26, and I assume my channel will be taken down, if not archived.

Notice how I have posted a grand total of 4 videos this year? It's been because a lack of motivation. I've turned away from my channel and am planning for a new one, designed to be my most fufilling yet. I'm getting assets and writing scripts in my free time. My channel will be called "BenShow" again, and I hope to reprise the YouTube handle I'll lose with the ban. Here's what my new channel is planned to look like :

Basically, I plan to cut down a considerable amount on the drawing. Why? Videos take like a month to make, and yeah you could argue quality over quantity, but I feel like I know how to balance a fair amount of quality whilst keeping the quantity. Besides, what's the point if I go all in on quality then upload once every blue moon? I also plan to do something I am hyped about, gaming series! I'll be finally play Red Dead Redemption 2 without my laptop overheating to the point I can fry eggs on it.

Anyways that's all for my future, how about the site? I've been really excited about the opportunities this site has. I'm adding a few easter eggs around. Actually by the time I publish the site there's probably easter eggs added, so look for them! The best way to do that is ben.show/(add random word here), and hope you land on a page. Anyways Album Review is being worked on, and I'm also adding comics to the site (my older ones), so be excited for that! Or don't. And make me very sad.
