10/12/25 - What?
As the past year has been leading up to this one fateful moment of everything I've built before my eyes tumbling down, I stayed up until midnight (which unfortunately most nights I do anyway unintentionally) to see the result. Since the government is half an hour ahead, I figured the great purge would start at 11:30pm my time. I check, nothing. That's ok though, I didn't expect it to be on the minute it turned December 10th, so I waited until 12pm my time. Still, nothing. Once again, it was probably the expected result, if the government could pull off every single ban the moment it turned 12pm, that would be slightly shocking and also concerning as to how much survelliance they really had over us.
So I hit the sack and wait until morning and... nothing. Millions of Australians, including my sister, wiped off every social media platform. And I'm still standing? To be fair, I'm in the hardest age group to detect. 15 and a half hanging around a bunch of 16 year olds. I guess they tackled the very obvious underage people first, then they'll get started on us. But what really confuses me is my google account unfortunately had to be registered as a teenager due to an incident* I'll talk on later. Obviously that would be the place you look first, right? If teenager then ban teenager, so why do I still have my channel?
I think on every other platform, I'm pretty hard to spot. Everyone I know and am friends with on snapchat, instagram, heck even tiktok, is above 16. But with youtube, not only is my channel labelled a teenager, I started my channel before my voice went down 12 octaves, my audience is literally kids or teenagers under the age for the ban, why am I not banned. It's now just... a bit awkward. I was planning to hit the ground running, planning for something bigger and greater but... I'm still here.
Obviously this will most likely change in the coming days, but the fact they easily just went for millions is scary, how have they not banned me yet? As I'm writing this, a friend that's older than me (turns 16 in march) just got banned. WHY THEM NOT ME?
Anyways that's my rant. I'll update below if I get banned from anything (and how long it took)
*Yeah so back 3 years ago I livestreamed with my face (when I was 12 mind you), and youtube instantly spotted me and said I either had to be labelled as a kid (and have everything I had deleted), an adult (then I'd need ID verification), or a teenager (restrictions on my account). I chose teenager and since it was march, thought it wouldn't hurt to just put me as a teenager a few months earlier so I could still have everything. Anyways that's come crashing down as now I'm target number one. Still, I haven't been banned?
